     1. Products contain 95% (or more) Certified-Organic ingredients.

     2. Certified-Organic products have completed a robust USDA verification process.

     3. Certified-Organic products are non-GMO and grown without pesticides, synthetic fertilizers, sewage sludge and irradiation.

Many agree that lack of safety rules for the cosmetic industry has resulted in a Wild West of personal care products being sold in the United States.* Unfortunately, it's possible for potentially toxic, artificial ingredients to be used in personal care products. Surprisingly, even skincare ingredients labeled as "organic," may not be held to the same high standard as food industry ingredients labeled "organic." Sadly, I was bamboozled before I understood the difference between "organic" versus "Certified-Organic." I've purchased skincare ingredients mislabeled as "organic," only to later discover that they were not "Certified-Organic." The organic labeled ingredients had not been though a robust 3rd-party verification process, similar to our organic food products.

In the skincare world, there is a distinction between "organic" versus "certified-organic." I learned the difference between those terms the hard way after purchasing several ingredients labeled as "organic." When I requested required proof of a USDA organic certificate, many companies were unable to provide the documentation. Several companies I've encountered have claimed their ingredients were organic without undergoing a USDA certification process to show that plant ingredients were non-GMO and grown without pesticides, synthetic fertilizers, sewage sludge and irradiation.

Obtaining USDA's organic certification for skincare products is a way skincare businesses can reassure customers that product ingredients labeled as "organic" are held to the same standard as food labeled as organic. The USDA's stringent organic certification system ensures that both our food and skincare products are grown without pesticides, synthetic fertilizers, sewage sludge, irradiation and genetic engineering. In addition, all products labeled "certified-organic" must contain at least 95% organic ingredients.

To be certain your skincare products are non-GMO and grown without pesticides and synthetic fertilizers check to ensure the product is, "certified-organic."

Wild Chick Organics products are always USDA certified-organic, 100% plant-based, vegan and cruelty free.

*Note: The FDA regulates cosmetics under the Federal Food, Drug and Cosmetic Act (FD&C). However, the FDA also does not currently have regulations for the term "organic" or "natural" for cosmetics. The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) regulates the use of the term “organic” for agricultural products under the National Organic Program (NOP).
